Richard EvansRichard Evans is an award-nominated film and television composer, acclaimed keyboard recording artist and musical director.

He was nominated for a Gemini in the “Best Original Music for a Non-Fiction Series” category with his eerie and gripping soundscape for the TV series Rescue Mediums (W Network).

He has recorded with Grammy winning artists including Michael McDonald (Doobie Brothers), Dave Stewart (Eurythmics), Take 6, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, Kara DioGuardi (American Idol), Colbie Caillat and David Clayton Thomas (BST). He also orchestrated the CD From the Heart for Grammy nominee Jim Brickman.

He scored 40 episodes of the Gemini Award-winning animated series Glenn Martin DDS (Nickelodeon). Created by former Disney CEO Michael Eisner, the claymation comedy features the superb voice talent of Kevin Nealon (SNL), Catherine O’Hara (SCTV) and a host of celebrity guest stars. Highlights included writing songs featuring Fergie (Black Eyed Peas) and Chrissie Hynde (The Pretenders).

Factual TV scores include Ice Pilots NWT (History Channel- CSA winner best Factual series 2015), Pyros (Discovery Channel), Rescue Mediums (W Network), Suite and Simple (CTV) and In Your Wildest Dreams (Discovery USA). His music is also featured in various episodes of The Ellen DeGeneres Show (NBC), Anderson (Warner Brothers), Dr. Drew’s Lifechangers (The CW Network) and Extra Entertainment (Telepictures).

His scoring and songwriting have been featured in many animated series including Care Bears and Cousins (Netflix), Care Bears: Welcome to Care-a-lot (The Hub), Caillou (PBS), Arthur (PBS), The Adventures of Paddington Bear and The Busy World of Richard Scarry.

Feature film scores include St. Roz (Lamport-Sheppard Entertainment - Winner of Gold Remi, Worldfest Houston International Film Festival 2010) and indie feature Still Waters.

As a recording artist, Richard has composed, arranged, and performed on over thirty new age, pop and instrumental CDs for the recording labels Solitudes, Avalon, Hallmark, and Reflections, which have sold hundreds of thousands of copies worldwide.

As a music director he has conducted Kinky Boots (Toronto) and Mamma Mia (Broadway and Toronto). He has recorded and performed with a long list of Canadian artists including Alan Frew, Amanda Marshall, Partland Brothers, Tara MacLean, Strange Advance, Rik Emmett, Regatta, Mark Jordan, Wendy Lands and Carol Welsman.
